Pricing FAQ
The questions merchants ask before they install.
Is there a free trial of Premium?
There is no standalone free trial of Premium, because the Free plan is already fully functional. Install Surfient from the Shopify App Store at no cost, run your first audits, publish your llms.txt, and see results inside the dashboard. Upgrade to Premium whenever you want the full automation suite — there is nothing to unlock before you pay.
Is a credit card required to start?
No. Free is genuinely free. You install the app through the Shopify App Store, authorize the standard Shopify permissions, and Surfient is live on your store. A payment method is only requested when you choose to upgrade to Premium — and that billing is handled by Shopify, not by us.
Can I cancel Premium at any time?
Yes. Cancel Premium from inside the app or from your Shopify admin → Apps → Surfient → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Premium access until that date. After cancellation your store drops back to the Free plan automatically.
What happens to my data if I downgrade from Premium to Free?
Nothing is deleted. Your audits, schema, and AI-ready files stay published on your domain. Premium-only files (llms-full.txt, ai-sitemap.xml, products.ndjson) stop refreshing but remain in place until you republish. AI visibility history is kept for 90 days on Free, so you can compare pre-Premium and post-Premium performance if you resubscribe later.
Do you charge per engine, per citation, or per seat?
No. Three flat prices — $0 for Free, $39/month for Premium, $89/month for Enterprise (post-launch) — cover every AI engine we track, every prompt you monitor, and every seat on the Shopify store. We would rather be paid to make AI indexing work than to meter it on you.
